    Guidance & Counselling

Guidance and counselling services at Kendriya Vidyalaya are integral to supporting the holistic development and well-being of students. Here’s an overview of how guidance and counselling are typically conducted at KVs:

Qualified Counsellors: KVs often employ qualified counsellors who are trained in psychology or counselling. These professionals provide individual counselling sessions to students who may be facing academic, personal, social, or emotional challenges.

Career Counselling: Career guidance is a key focus at KVs, especially for students in higher classes (typically from 9th grade onwards). Counsellors assist students in exploring career options, understanding their strengths and interests, and making informed decisions about their academic and vocational paths.

Personal Counselling: Counsellors offer support to students dealing with issues such as stress, anxiety, peer pressure, family problems, self-esteem issues, and behavioral concerns. They provide a safe and confidential space for students to express themselves and receive guidance.

Group Counselling: In addition to individual sessions, counsellors may conduct group counselling sessions on topics like study skills, time management, exam preparation, bullying prevention, and interpersonal relationships. These sessions promote peer support and collaborative problem-solving.

Parent Counselling: KVs often organize workshops or counselling sessions for parents to help them understand adolescent development, effective parenting strategies, and how to support their children academically and emotionally.
